Tiedtke's Department Store (1910 - 1975)

The Tiedtke Building stood at the corner of Adams and Summit Streets in Toledo, Ohio. The Tiedtke Brothers Department Store was known for the quantity and quality of its merchandise. The building was constructed in 1910 and was destroyed in a fire in 1975, two years after the Tiedtke's company became defunct.

A black and white photo taken in September of 1936 of the businesses in the Tiedtke Building at the corner of Adams and Summit Streets in Toledo, Ohio, with the Tiedtke's Toys sign displayed prominently at the corner. The Tiedtke Brothers Department Store was known for the quanity and quality of its merchandise thus making it a popular place to shop for Christmas. The photo was taken by Milton Zink.

A color photograph of fire fighters spraying water on the former Tiedtke's Brothers Department Store on Summit Street in downtown Toledo. The fire took place on May 7, 1975, two years after Tiedtke's closed their downtown location. The building was scheduled to be razed when the fire broke out.
