Unknown Architect: Joseph Swift Residence, Erie County, Ohio
Location for this building is a rough approximation only. Historic American Building Survey documents indicate it was seven miles south of the Vermilion, and overlooked the Vermilion River on the east bank.
The Joseph Swift Residence was built from 1840-1841 and was destroyed in 1923. These architectural drawings of the residence were prepared in 1941 by T.E. O'Donnell based on notes and sketches he made from 1919-1921. The drawings are white line on blue paper. They include exterior elevations, floorplans, and interior details of doorways, windows, fireplaces, and columns. The building was situated near Vermillion, Ohio and was referred to as Rosedale by the originals builders.
